Where it all started
Mulieres started with our own family. Our children's skin was so sensitive that conventional products were out of the question. Instead of compromising, we began making our own, using natural recipes passed down from a grandmother. Friends and family soon wanted them too – and that's how Mulieres began. Vinegar was always part of those recipes – for softer laundry and a cleaner home.

Softness doesn't need a coating
Vinegar softens laundry in the rinse instead of covering the fibres with fragrance, so your clothes feel soft and simply smell clean.
One bottle, many jobs
In the rinse, vinegar does more than soften. It removes detergent residue and static, keeps colours bright, and helps remove the yellowing that iron in tap water can leave on laundry. Used in an empty wash, it also removes limescale and detergent build-up from your washing machine.

Unlike many vinegars, ours isn't processed with bone meal – which makes it one of the few vegan vinegars on the market.

Questions we often hear
Yes. Add 30 ml to the softener drawer. Instead of coating the fibres, vinegar rinses out detergent residue and minerals from hard water, which is what leaves laundry feeling stiff.
No. The vinegar smell rinses out, leaving your laundry soft and lightly fresh with citrus.
Yes. Vinegar softens towels without leaving a coating on the fibres, which is why many people prefer it for towels.
Used as directed, it's well diluted: 30 ml in the softener drawer mixes with all the rinse water. Avoid pouring large amounts of undiluted vinegar into the drum, and stick to the recommended dose.
Yes. Keep them in separate compartments: detergent in the detergent drawer, vinegar in the softener drawer. That way each does its own job.
Avoid frosted glass, leaded windows, metal-plated surfaces such as gold-plated taps, and natural limestone or marble. If in doubt, test on a small, hidden area first.

- As a fabric softener: add 30 ml to the softener drawer of your washing machine.
- As a stain remover: apply directly to the stain, soak in water for 30 minutes, then wash as usual.
- To descale your washing machine: pour 100 ml into the detergent drawer and run an empty 90–95 °C cycle. Then wipe the drawer, door and rubber seal. Repeat four to six times a year.
- For cleaning and ironing: dilute 1:1 with water in a spray bottle. Use on windows, in bathrooms and kitchens, or as an ironing spray.
- Not suitable for frosted glass, leaded windows, metal-plated surfaces or natural limestone and marble. If in doubt, test on a hidden area first.
